Automate data extraction from pdf file

Hello
I have about a hundred PDF files from which I need to extract data and add them manually to an Excel file. I would like to know if it is possible to automate this with AI so that as soon as I add a PDF file the data is automatically extracted and added to the Excel file.

    Hi,

Yes it is possible.  I don't use AI builder though, I am using Power Automate for Desktop and reading the content of each PDF then using the capture values and adding a row to Excel.

Works great (provided that the PDFs are all the same format).

To automate this you can use this trigger so when a new PDF is added to a folder you select, it will run your Power Automate for Desktop flow, extract the values, add to an Excel table.  I have a handful of these running, work like magic and very dependable.

If your PDFs have different formats then you may use GPT to extract the data like this template: https://community.powerplatform.com/galleries/gallery-posts/?postid=31e67eea-3f73-47b4-95b7-fe4a7b646389
