Populate text field action not working

Hi All,

I am trying to test Power Automate Desktop. I am trying to populate excel data in my sharepoint form column.
However, it does not populate the data. I am using populate text field on web page action and taking excel data as input.
It opens the webpage and focuses on field but does not populate data.

Not sure why nothing is happening.

Thanks in advance!!

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @Anonymous,

Did you use the recorder or add ui element?  If the recorder hasn't worked, try the Add UI Element or vice versa.

Is the site public? I.e. could I give it a go for you?

It's probably worth doing a 2nd capture of the field and checking the selectors to see if there are any differences between the 2. Click the elipses next to the element in the UI Elements window.

    Cheers,

    Hi, @DamoBird365

    Same issue with me.

"I am trying to test Power Automate Desktop. I am trying to populate excel data in my sharepoint form column.

As per my research, i have found that every refresh of page that textbox id was changed.

So, please any solution for that.

    Thanks

    Hi @TDarji

I would recommend that you simplify your captured element.  When it is created, it notes the html around that element at the time, you can make it more generic by reducing the number of elements specified or by using wildcards.  I don't have an example myself, but try exploring the captured element on the right hand tool bar and slowly reduce the number of elements captured until it works in your solution.  You can also edit the code for the element directly but if you get it wrong, you have to re-capture and start again.

If this isn't of help, best open another call as I am sure someone will have tackled similar in more detail elsewhere.

    Damien
