Rename file is returning me an empty list as output

I am currently facing an issue related to file management, specifically when attempting to rename files after moving them. The process involves moving downloaded files to a designated directory named "MovedFiles" and then renaming them using a new format. However, I have observed inconsistent behavior where the renaming operation sometimes succeeds, while at other times, it fails.

I would appreciate your assistance in understanding the underlying cause of this inconsistency and finding a solution to ensure reliable file management and renaming operations.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

You told that it sometime its working (rename the file) and sometime failed while at the time of failed its showing

any kind of error , can you share the screenshot of it.

Check what you selected as the option in the "If file exists" parameter of the Rename file(s) action:

If it's set to "Do nothing", which is the default setting, it will not rename a file when a file with the same name already exists. In cases like that, the output variable will be blank.

So, you should either make it overwrite an existing file (if that is valid based on your process logic), or use If file exists to check if a file with the same name already exists in the target directory. And if it does, then use a different name for the new file.

Thanks @Agnius . It was a really good approach, I set overwrite in the "If file exists" option inside Rename(s) file action and also handling download with Javascript actions to ensure that file was downloaded.
