Automatic Rename file

Hello.

I take photos at different tabletop gaming events and put them onto my PC at the end of a month. I normally have to sit and manually move the images from one folder into the specific game folder i have set up. Then i bulk rename the images based on the folder they go into for the specific game but this often reorders them.

Is there a way that i can set it up so the files can be automaticlly renamed as soon as i place then in the file. for example if i moved any image named ISOxxxxx in to the folder, it renames the image as star wars legion?
I have the same question (0)

I don't think you can trigger a desktop flow when you move a file to a folder.

One simple way you could meet your needs is to create a flow that you start after you have moved all the files inside the folder they belong to.
If its an empty folder which after you have moved the images will only have images that are not yet renamed then its simple two actions:
    1. Get files in folder
    2. Rename file(s)

    Like this:

Create Input variable for the folder path and the name that you want to rename the files as. Then you can just run the flow from the main window and it will ask before each run for the folder path and the name for the files.

    Like so:

If the folder already might have files that are named correctly (so if you add each month new images to a folder that already exists and has older images in it) then add a loop that goes through each item in the %Files% list and removes all the items that has the correct starting name to the file. So in the example case: if the file starts with "star wars legion" then remove item from list.

Example of how the flow would work. I have images that are not named in the StarWarsLegion folder where I already have one file correctly named (star wars legion_image1.png):

Then when I run the flow

After the flow has run all the files are named correctly:
