Scheduled flow not sending

Hi,

I have a scheduled flow set up to post a message to a group chat at 8:30am EST every Friday. Today was the first day it was supposed to run but it didn't. I'm based in India (not sure if that matters) but I set my timezone to EST on the flow. Someone told me that since my interval is 1 and my start date is today I.e Jan30th, it would only start from next week. Is this true?
P.s, all my tests were successful. I had 2 people on the group chat for testing. And then added 69 other users, but the schedule didn't work and I had to manually run it (that's the most recent success you'll see at 7.01 india time)

The recurrence trigger is confusing.  Although there is a field for setting the time zone, that field has no effect on the trigger time and date. The trigger time and date is set in UTC mode, that is why it ends in a 'Z'.  So your current setting will trigger the flow on 1/31 at 1:30 in the afternoon UTC time which won't happen until tomorrow.  Since its set to trigger on Fridays only it won't trigger until next Friday.

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for much for your answer. Thats really helpful! Just so I'm completely grasping this -  2 clarifying questions below

    1) The issue is with my Start date. This date was set to 1:30pm Eastern on 1/30 so essentially the flow "initiates" itself at this time. Which is after the time I was hoping it would run and it didn't.
    2) With my current settings, since the Start time is passed, and the flow has basically "started", I can expect it to work correctly next Friday 2/6 at 8:30am Eastern - correct?

    Appreciate all your support!

Just to clarify what Paul is saying, the issue isn't the schedule. It's the start time, ie after which point to start the schedule. This using uct time, so it missed your Fridays first run (which is local time) but as this date time is in the past your flow will work for all future Fridays, no need to change it

Encountered this same thing and was almost going crazy.
But what everyone has said is correct.. no need to panic. Power Automate can skip the first weekly recurrence if the flow wasn’t configured at least 7 days earlier😁
