I am working with Power Automate Desktop and need to click on a button that looks like a pencil icon. However, there are multiple similar buttons on the webpage. How can I specify which button is the correct one to click?

Initially, you can use the Power Automate Desktop recorder feature. Start by enabling recording to capture your intended action, such as clicking on the edit or pencil button. Then, verify if this action performs correctly when executed again.

If the functionality isn't working correctly, you can inspect all three edit buttons to understand their differences in HTML elements or attributes. Simply press the F12 button in your browser to access the developer tools for detailed examination.

It should be able to take the correct edit button as @Deenuji suggested capture the element and test it.
If for what ever reason it doesn't work or you want to have one element that works dynamically then edit the ui element for that button.
    For example:
Lets say I want to click the third "Add to basket" button on this page:

Then open the element you have captured

    eetuRobo_2-1721114442905.png

and go to the last element in the "Elements" list. Then toggle on the "Ordinal" and it equal 2 (its 0 based so starts at 0 and there for the 3rd button is index 2).

You can also change that to a variable if you want the flow to pick dynamically certain edit button. At that point you need to change to Text editor since there is a bug about attributes that only take number values.
