Flow recurrence interval

Hi all,

We have build some flows that sends an auto-reply when incoming mails arrive in a shared mailbox. The flow is working fine, but I see that it only checks every 5 minutes for new messages. At this site - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-automate/limits-and-config#duration-and-retention-limits - I found that the minimum recurrence interval is 60 seconds. But everytime I set the interval to 60 seconds or 1 minute, the interval is resetted to 5 minutes.
Does anyone know why this is happening? How can I change the recurrence interval?

Kind regards,
Arjan

Why don't you use trigger When a new email arrives in a shared mailbox?
Then you don't have to worry about scheduling the flow to run every n minutes?. It will only run when a new email arrives.

    Hi DJ_Jamba,

Thanks for your reply. We do use the trigger you mentioned. But the flow is not running right away. It looks like that the interval in the flow determines when the flow starts.

    Kind regards,
    Arjan

Even though the documentation states a minimum of 60 seconds, based on my experience there are hidden platform-level throttles.

    • Standard tenants (Power Automate for Office 365) → 5-minute minimum
    • Premium/custom connectors → Can sometimes run at 1-minute intervals
    • Power Automate "Per Flow" & "Per User" Plans → Allow faster polling

If your business absolutely requires a faster interval, you can try: Raising a support ticket with Microsoft to request a lower interval.  also try Upgrading to a premium plan, which sometimes offers more frequent polling.

I would also suggest instead of scheduled flow kindly use the event-based trigger → When a new email arrives in a shared mailbox (V2).

Thanks for replying. I will look into the license we have for PowerAutomate.

You suggest to use an event bases trigger; I used this one. But there is still a mandatory recurrence interval.

    Kind regards,
    Arjan
