Power Automate - send mail using a Distribution list

Hi,

I have a power automate cloud flow which gets triggered from a power apps button from any user who is logged into the app and clicking the button, the cloud flow sends an email to the user whoever clicks the button.

if From field is empty then mail gets triggered from the same user id itself whoever clicked button.

if I provide the Distribution List (DL) mail id then it gives error "You are not authorized to send mail on behalf of the specified sending account."

Kindly help/suggest what can be used and why

Hi,
assign the account you are using to run the flow right to send as this DL.

I have the right to send as to that DL, if I click the button it is triggering the mail and giving FROM (that DL) but if any other user clicks the button then it's that above error... (FYI: I am the maker/creator of the cloud flow)

If I got this right; when you press the button it will send to the distribution list, but other colleagues get an error message.

Sounds like me this is not a PowerApp / FLOW problem, but a DL setting in Exchange Online. If able, could you check the DL settings in the Exchange (online) admin portal?

1) Select the DL
2) Go to settings
3) Check Delivery management and Message approval options

Thank you for your quick responses:
My mail id is added to that DL so I was able to use that DL as FROM in the send an email action in the cloud flow(FYI: I am the maker/creator) and whenever I click the button on power apps, I get the mail (mentioning that DL as FROM).
There are 50K users who might use this power apps and click on the button, for them it's giving error.
Do I need to get all of them(50K users) added to that DL or how can I use that DL to send mail to whoever clicks the button ??

@Mohammed_Ishaq , I think I misunderstood your initial question. It seems that you want the Distribution List in the From field. My response had to do with that settings that allows to send TO the DL.

Since you already have permission to send from that list, yet it does not work in your FLOW when someone else pressed the button. Perhaps you can show some pieces of the puzzle in screenshots?

@stefwanders : you are right!!

This is the DL which is used to send mail as FROM for which I have the permission and able to send mail via power apps button

And this is the below error while some other user is trying to submit a button using that DL:

Is there any issue from Power apps side or what can be the issue??
How do I get this fixed to work with my DL (Send as) for whoever presses a button from Power apps?

you have to grant all users who will run the flow right to send as DL.

@VictorIvanidze is correct in this one. You cannot send mail from anything Exchange related if you do not have send permissions.

However, Shane Young seems to have a little workaround for it. I havent checked out the entire video, but maybe this will assist you:

@VictorIvanidze , how am I supposed to do that?
You mean all the 52K users must have send as permission to that DL so that my flow can run using that DL (as FROM) ??

Hi All,
I got a solution for this, I just used power apps(V2) action as a trigger, where we have an option "run-only users", in which I kept the "use my connection" option of my account mail ID for the send an email action...it is now sending mails FROM as that DL whenever any other user clicks on a button in power apps.
