Hi all,
I have an excel file in SharePoint it's in read only mode, when i open that file i have an option to make it editable, if i don't make is editable then i am not able to see the data in Power Automate Excel Online i want to get that data into Power Automate for comparison , any ways to convert that file from read only to editable using flow or any other automatic way?

    Same issue here.

I was also getting this issue but for the Desktop flows which I created through Power Automate for Desktop. I used PAD to update the excel stored in SharePoint and added the write action and ended with Close excel with Save. But last week I got this issue where PAD was unable to save the excel and it Excel was only opening it in Read only mode. Even before excel was opening in Read only mode but PAD didn't threw the error due to which I think there was some changes in Power Automate in this recent update.

So I found this workaround, You just have to select the "Save as" option in Close Excel Action and mention the SharePoint/OneDrive path you want it to save. This will make PAD do the updation on the excel even if it opens in Read Only mode and it will just overwrite the Excel stored in SharePoint. This will not give the Error.

But If you want some other Alternatives, try uninstalling Excel and install the latest version of the Excel from Microsoft Office 365. Latest version will open the Excel in Editable Mode. The thing is I was stuck with Excel 2016 which opens SharePoint Excel in Read Only mode due to my Organization policy so I tried the first workaround.
