Export To File for Power BI Reports - Include all contents of table visual

(1) ShareShare

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

When using the "Export To File for Power BI Reports" feature and specifying a page, it essentially takes a screen shot of that page as if you were viewing it in PBi directly. Unfortunately, if your table is large, any data below the bottom of the visual, that you would normally have to scroll down to see, is not visible in the export.

Is there a way to specify that the entire contents of the table visual be exported and shown?

Failing that, how can I increase the length of a Page in PBi so that I can increase the table size to accommodate the maximum amount of rows I would expect?

Thx

    Hi

I had a requirement a few months ago and found the issue, I wasn't expecting a screenshot 🙂

However there is an action called Run a query against a dataset

You can paste the dax query from power bi into there.

First you need to get the query itself from Power Bi - what I did for the one I use was to open it in power bi desktop, then unfilter my view, go to the performance analyzer button on the view tab, click start recording, filter the view to what I required, stop recording and the copy query:

Then paste the query into the action

From there I created a csv table and was able to organise the data in the format I needed - in my case this was to transfer to SharePoint.

I have a flow that first refreshes the dataset then gathers the output from the query so it's always up to date information.

    Hi,

Thank you for the reply! Close, but no Cigar. This will be sent to upper management and they want "pretty", along with the KPI visuals, filter visuals, etc. that appear at the top of the page.

But this will be useful for some other tasks I have. So, half an "Accept As Solution"? Sorry I can't check it off. I don't want to shut down others.

    Thx

    Don

Bumping this as I am having same issue a year onwards, is there a way to export my PowerBI report the same way as Export to File for Power BI reports but not have the pages just screenshot what the system sees but include all the data within visuals which have more data?
