Unique Connector Names

Is there a way to uniquely name connectors?

For example, I use Power Automate in combination with Salesforce.  In Salesforce, you can have multiple sandboxes, but you need to create a new connector for each sandbox you want to work with.  The connector name shown is typically a Salesforce connector, but the name is the user name used to connect to the Salesforce sandbox.  There is no easy way to identify the which connector is attached to which Salesforce sandbox.

It would make things much easier if I can supply a custom name for the connector in order to know which one is connected to which sandbox.

    Hi ,
There isn’t a direct way to rename or uniquely change the display name of a connection in Power Automate/Power Apps. By default, the Connection name is tied to the account used to establish the connection, which makes it tricky when you’re working with multiple Salesforce sandboxes or Same connector but with different creds.

    My workaround is :

You can use Solutions in Power Automate to manage this more cleanly:

    • Create a Solution in your environment.

    • Inside the solution, add a Connection Reference.

    • Give the connection reference a custom name that clearly identifies the sandbox (e.g., Salesforce – Dev Sandbox, Salesforce – UAT Sandbox).

    • Link the connection reference to the actual connection you want to use.(or create a new connection).

    • Add the flows/apps into this solution and change the connection to your connection reference.

This way, instead of relying on the auto-generated connector names,(same name in your case) you’ll be able to identify which sandbox is being used by looking at the connection reference name. It makes managing multiple environments much easier and avoids confusion.

Only the connection name can be renamed, not the connector type.
