Power Automate Switch not matching values despite identical strings

Hi,

I have a Switch action in my Power Automate flow where the "On" field receives a value from Microsoft Forms via "Get response details" action. The value coming in is JDG (confirmed in run history under inputs).

In the Switch, I have a case with "Equals" set to JDG — yet the Switch doesn't match and falls through to Default.

I have already checked:

  • No leading or trailing spaces in the "Equals" field

  • The value in "On" field matches exactly what appears in run history

  • Recreating the case from scratch didn't help

  • The flow trigger is "When a new response is submitted" from Microsoft Forms

  •

Has anyone encountered this issue? Is there something wrong with how the value is passed from Forms to Switch, or is there a known bug with Switch and Forms responses?

Thanks

    Hi

Hidden characters in the Form response could cause this. Even if run history shows JDG, the value may contain invisible whitespace or formatting.

You can use an invisible character viewer for troubleshooting, but only with non-sensitive or sample text.

For example, the following strings all look like JDG but contain hidden characters and can cause matching issues:
    JDG
    JDG
    JDG
    JDG
