Mouse to image should always be a last resort specifically because of this behavior. Same size screen with same resolution should yield comparable results; however, a different resolution would almost certainly result in an error. Another issue would be trying to remote in. Remoting in can mess with text and make images not match.
I believe since 2.14, you can add an action to change the resolution; although I don't know how effective this actually is.
You should always look for a window/UI/web element. If you can't find that, try 'Send Keys'. Using these will reduce your error rate and make your PAD flows more interchangeable between computers and users.
