Hi All,

I need help in clicking on an item within the submenu of the main menu within a desktop application

question.PNG

In the above screenshot I need to click on "By Client ID" within the menu of "Search For Client" which is the submenu of "Clients"

I have tried capturing the UI element of "Search For Client", While trying, the PAD is not able to identify the item.

The desktop application is an executable that is available at [LINK]

Please suggest alternative steps.

Thanks in advance.

You should try using action "Send key" and use {Tab} instead of selecting UI element

It is not a smart way but it is quite effective

    Hi @Kshana_Stith

Yes those menu items were not spyable.

I was able to enter the menu using the below key combinations

    - At first press Alt C
    - then S
    - then B
    - then Enter

giving some wait stages between each of them.

After the Run Application make sure to enter credentials. I did this manually during the below testing.

At first try out the key combinations manually then via PAD.

I had the same issue on a menu and found using mouse commands worked. Instruction 32 opens the menu, and then the following commands moves the mouse to the menu item(s) which moves the focus to the menu items. The mouse click instruction makes the action selection on step 38.  The Wait commands are for monitoring the automation steps on screen.
