"Populate Text Field in Window" not highlighting the link

Hello,

I'm automating an 'upload files' action and I run into a bug.

When file explorer opens, I want it to highlight the path, delete it, and then replace it with the path I want.

Instead of clicking outside of the path link to highlight the entire path, it clicks on the recent folder so that messes up the pasting of the actual path quite a bit. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance!

    Hi @Peridot1 ,

I have several flows in production and what has worked very well for me in unattended runs is to click on the file name field (shown below in highlighted).  This appears to be more effective and stable for me and in this field you can type in your dynamic path or even dynamic path directly to a file.  If you are just typing in a path to a folder, when you click Open, it has the same effect as click on the path where the red dot it.

I've also experience some issues clicking on the Open button successfully 100% of the time, what also works for me is to populate the file name field with the path or path to file and then send keys {Tab}{Space} to click on the Open button.  I know there are a lot of users that will say never use send keys; although what I can share with you is to do what works best for you and your flow.

That said, try this suggestion and let me know if this helps!

    Hi @Peridot1

Instead of targeting the path you can type entire path in the File Name Text box that way it is more robust solution

As @Srini007 mentioned, you can in fact send the entire file path (including the directory) into the File name field. This works perfectly fine and you will not actually need to click the "Open" button as @trice602 described before typing in the file name itself. Just send it all at once as a single string that contains both the directory and the file name, and then click Open. This will do the trick.
