List Files in Folder returns a no item message

Hi,

I am using the OneDrive for Business – List files in folder action,  however, whenever I navigate to the root directory, it returns a “No items” message instead of listing the folders in my OneDrive.

Yes, this can happen if the flow is using the wrong OneDrive action or connector.
There are two different OneDrive connectors in Power Automate:
OneDrive for Business – for work or school Microsoft 365 accounts
OneDrive for personal Microsoft accounts, such as Outlook.com, Hotmail, or a personal OneDrive
If the files are stored in a personal OneDrive, the OneDrive for Business connector will not list them. It may show the root folder as empty or return no items because it is looking in the business/work OneDrive connected to that action.

If you have any questions or feedback, please let me know. Have a great day! 😊

If you're definitely on the right connector (OneDrive for Business with the correct account), check how you're specifying the root folder. The List files in folder action expects a specific File Identifier for root, not just leaving it blank or typing "/".

Click the folder picker icon next to the Folder field instead of typing a path manually, and select the root from the browse dialog. That returns the correct internal folder ID for root, which often differs from what people expect to type.

Also check the connection itself: go to the action, click the three dots, and verify which OneDrive account the connection is bound to. If you have multiple Microsoft 365 accounts or this flow was copied from another user's flow, the connection might be pointing to a different OneDrive than the one you're checking in the browser.

If the folder picker shows files fine when you browse it manually but the flow run still returns no items, add a Compose action right after to inspect the raw output value array, that will confirm whether the action is actually hitting an empty folder vs returning a parsing issue.

    Best regards,
