Hi,

I was wondering how the Top parameter works when I set a Search Query in Get Emails (V3), specifically, if I have 500 emails in my inbox, with the oldest 100 having "example" in their subject, and I set the Search Query accordingly and Top to 100, will it prioritize the Search Query, and return the 100 emails, or will it look at the top (newest) 100 items first, and search in their subjects, effectively returning none.

Search Query is applied first across your entire mailbox, not just the newest emails

In practice, the connector uses Microsoft Graph’s search functionality for Outlook mail: the search criteria are applied across your mailbox (not just to the newest messages), and results are sorted by date/time (newest-first). This means if your query matches older emails, those will still be returned (up to the Top count) even if they’re not among the latest items.

In your scenario, setting Search Query for "example" and Top to 100 will return those 100 matching emails, even though they're the oldest

There's a known limitation: Search queries are typically capped at ~250 results regardless of the Top value due to Microsoft Graph API constraints
