How to get the Power Automate Desktop Flow Execution logs

Hi All,

I have created a desktop flow, which is added to the PAD Test as well, as per the requirements I wanted to trace the execution logs for the Desktop flow and the Test, so that I can verify the step execution and the timestamp of start and end of the execution.

I searched the following locations but I did not get the log files.

%user%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power Automate Desktop
C:\Program Files (x86)\Power Automate Desktop
C:\Users\RawatSa2\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power Automate Desktop\Console\Scripts\7bca9174-6f82-4fcd-85cb-51a11aace69e\Runs

Surprisingly I had a PowerBI desktop flow, which have Actions.log files.

Is it relevant to any specific installation, or license requirement?
I have the same question (1)

If you have premium license you can login into - Microsoft Power Automate and under Desktop flow activity menu like below:

In case if you don't have premium license you create your own log files using write csv or text and add timestamp and you can add your login where you trace and store in some local folder. it would help you with similar insights.

I know the other 2 options:

    1.  View run results on the cloud URL:

    2. Create a script and insert as a sub workflow or after each workflow to capture the task and timestamp, but I don't want to make things more complex.

I need to know this file used to generate earlier like below, now it is not getting generated at all.

You need to run the flow from the main window (or from the cloud) not from the edit window (having the flow open in the edit mode and running it from there is for debugging and does not save logs of the runs)

Then it will create the logs for the flows. But I think by default the flow logs will be removed from the local machine after the flow has completed and uploaded to dataverse (power automate cloud like Deenuji showed). Also I think it might need to be your own environment where it only saves the logs to local machine (not 100% sure about this)

You can change it from the window registry to not clean up those logs:

    Hi,
It is always a good practice to log text messages in txt file or .csv file to log custom message.
User can use Log message action in pad as well to log their custom messages.
By using custom logging you can log messages like :
Starting Test subflow - while starting the flow
Completed Test subflow - at end of the flow
You can log SE or BE exception in between.

You can also see your desktop action level (input and output from actions) logs in desktop flow run tab.
