Change connection to Virtual Machine during the deployment

Hey everyone!

I have a simple PAD flow and I have a solution with one cloud flow. This cloud flow only has an action to trigger my PAD flow.

So while adding the action to trigger the PAD flow I selected virtual machine, provided user login and user password.

Everything works as usual.

But right now I want to deploy this solution to another environment.

So my question is how can I change the connection reference for my cloud flow (change the virtual machine, login and password) during the deployment?

I know that I can connect the right connection after the deployment but this will create an unmanaged layer in the solution.

So I'm wondering if it's possible to connect the flow to the needed working connection reference during the deployment?

Thanks for all your advices!

Instead of a connection, use Connection reference. You can create a connection via Data > Connections in the cloud portal. Then you can add a Connection reference to your solution that targets the connection. Then make your flow use a connection reference.

Before importing the solution to a new environment, create a similar connection in the target environment. During the import, you will be asked which connection the connection reference in your solution should target. You will be allowed to provide mapping and this will not create an unmanaged layer.

See here for more reference on Connection references: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/data-platform/create-connection-reference

Thank you @Agnius , it's working fine with the manual deployment. But is it possible to set up connection references during the deployment with the managed Power Platform pipelines?

You will be asked to map connection references to connections during a Pipeline deployment the same way you get asked to do it when you do a manual one. So, you still need the connection to be present in the target environment before doing the deployment.
