SQL When new record is created

Hello Everyone,

I have created a flow, if a record is created in our on - premise SQL Datawarehouse (Not Azure) then an item should be created in the sharepoint list. But the flow isn't working.

Whenever there is a new record inserted in the SQL Table, the flow isn't failed but it shows that it skipped in the check runs.

Can we create flows using On - Premise SQL server (via gateway) or it has to be AZURE SQL database only?

Also I have SQL Standard 2016 version, do I have to have SQL 2017 version in order for the flow to run?

Thanks,

Adeeba

Yes, you can utilize on-premise SQL with Microsoft Flow. To troubleshoot please:

Also, here's an overview of how the connector works:Data-Gateway-Overview.png

Usually when there is an issue with the gateway, there is a configuration or networking issue as the culprit. Like with SQL, the On-premise gateway also has logs you can review while troubleshooting: on-premise-event-logs.png

Microsoft recommends using Fiddler to perform network and proxy traces. If you could provide an expanded screenshot of your Flow and steps, and of any detailed error messages you're receiving we could likely better assist you.

I have tested the flow manually and the test worked absolutely fine, but when I add a new record in SQL table, the flow doesn't run. I assume if the test flow was working then there is no issue with the gateway, because I am able to read the data.

Again, you likely have a configuration issue with your data gateway and/or SQL connectory. It isn't updating Flow that a change was made to trigger the Flow.

    Hi @Adeeba ,

I have made some tests on my side, and it works well.

Could you please share a screenshot of the details of the Run history with the skipped information?

    Hi,

I was able to connect the Flow and SQL Server successfully and the flow runs on the Orders table. However, when I run the Flow it sends an email for the very first order number (record) and not for the newly created orders.

ROWID and ORDER NUMBER are two different columns and the identity field is ROWID.

Any idea why it may happen?

    Thanks in advance.

    Denis.

Did you ever get an answer to this, or work out how to do it?

I'm very interested as I have many clients with on-premise SQL who wish to take advantage of the benefits of Flow/Automate, but can't without custom connectors.
