Power Automate Failing to Save Excel 2007 Files

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can provide an explanation or guidance on how to fix an issue where Power Automate is failing at the Save As dialog window. For some reason it cannot find the UI element when running while it was clearly captured by Desktop Recorder.

I have done the same save operation for a PDF document and that worked perfectly. It finds the UI drive on left pane and folders to save in. But for Excel 2007 file it's a nightmare for a simple task.

Please help.

Not sure on UI elements changing in Excel 2007; however, if this is an ongoing issue, hotkeys such as Alt(f) for file should work consistently.  Best of luck!

I'm launching the Save As screen by F12. After that the issue is selecting a drive to save to from left pane. It does not recognize any UI elements not even the save button. Just wondering if there's any way to still get this to work somehow?

Do you have the text field next to "File name:".

If so, you can 'Send Keys' the address in here with Enter at the end to navigate to the folder address.
    (ex. C:\Users\Documents{Enter})

When it moves to the address, the File name text field will blank you and go to the folder, then you Send Keys again for the filename you want.

    Good luck!

    Hi @Peter13

Is there any specific reason that you are trying to do a SaveAs by using the buttons on window and not using the in-built Save action in PAD?

In the "Document path" box below you can give the destination details.

Good idea. Will try this route.

Hmm. I'm using desktop recorder because PAD does not allow for downloading files from browsers (except for Automation Browser.) I guess I can stop the recorder before saving and try the Save action. Thank you for the suggestion.

    Hi @Peter13

Yes that's right. Once the file is downloaded you can use the "Attach to running" action and then Save it.
