Launch new Internet Explorer doesn't work for local intranet

Hi, very simple "Launch new Internet Explorer" action doesn't work for my local intranet.

Does anybody experience the similar issue and know how to solve it? Thank you!

Here's the situation.

  • Already installed latest Power Automate Desktop after general availability announcement.
  • Launch new Internet Explorer action results in error and the message says something like "failed to move" or "Unable to move" (in Japanese). The website actually opened up but unable to go to next action because of this error.
  • The website I'm trying to open is local intranet. Checking IE security setting for local intranet, protected mode is off.
  • I cannot use Chrome or Edge as alternative because this inhouse legacy web app does not work well in modern browsers.
  • The same action worked without any problem when I used WinAutomation. In addition, if I past e the action from PAD to Robin, it perfectly works.
  • This error is not only for myself but the same thing is happening for my colleagues.

Hi, found out how to solve by myself, so please forget above. This is just for information sharing.

The issue comes from IE's compatibility mode setting. Seems PAD won't work when compatibility mode is on.

So tick off IE's "Display intranet sites in Compatibility View" from top gear icon > Compatibility View settings.

This could ruin the layout of very old web apps but no choice at the moment..
