Hello!

I could not find any information about how power automate desktop handles data and need to understand how in order to know if power automate is something i can use or not.

User case:

I need to handle local data in order to create a file. In order to create the file some variables needs to be set and functions within the process needs to be created.

If i use power automate desktop, will any of my data get processed in the cloud? Can the data be seen by microsoft or 3rd party?

If you need more information regarding the user case let me know.

Cheers!

If you do not want your data to be logged in the cloud, you should set the variables as sensitive. You can do that by right-clicking a variable and clicking "Mark as sensitive":

If you do not do that, data is logged in the cloud. MS states that they do not see the data, but it does get logged. So, if the data is in fact sensitive, it's best to mark it as such.

Thank you for a better insight!

What else is stored in the cloud of this process?

Is the file stored or logged?

Any other information that has to do with the content of the file stored? If not set as sensitive that is.

The code behind every single action of the flow is also stored in the cloud. So, if you have any comments or something like that in the code that could potentially be sensitive, you should remove those.

The file that you read during runtime is not stored anywhere, and its values will not be logged if you set the variable as sensitive.
