Send Power BI report as pdf via outlook

ReportReport
Posted on by 2
Hello all. I am trying to send a pdf version of a report I created in power Bi. I've got everything working in automate except one key part.

We've got a list of all of our clients separated by their client ID #. We are trying to user Automate to filter each report by Client #, then have the email attachment correspond to each Client #. Right now, the automation will create an email with the correct subject name, client name, etc. using just that client ID #. But, it won't attach the correct pdf file.

    Root Cause
In Microsoft Power Automate + Microsoft Power BI:
    • Your loop iterates through Client IDs
    • Email content uses dynamic values
    • But the Export to PDF action is not applying filter
So the PDF = same report every time

    Correct Approach
    • You must pass a filter into the “Export to File for Power BI Reports” action.

Watch below video. Might be helpful:

Thanks for the response. So far, that hasn't helped. In the video, the user doesn't put any filter on the report, suggesting the report they are sending is a static report which doesn't need to change based on who is receiving it.

For my case, the report must be filtered by the Client # and then sent to that corresponding email. In our excel table, it has a column for client #. In that row is the client emails which belong to each Client #.

Then, the report is filtered on a filter entire page by Client #.
