How to convert XLS to XLSX format using Power Automate

Hi Folks!!

I need to convert XLS into XLSX format of excel via Power Automate FLOW.

* I Don't want to use UI Flows as it is not free.

* I Don't want to use Third party tools such as Plumsail, encodian etc as it needs access to Tenant Admin.

Please suggest any other way around to achieve the feet.

Thanks

Amit

    Hi there,

Unfortunately there isn't a free way to use Power Automate to convert XLS into XLSX. It requires a paid standalone license in order to do so.

In case you decide to go this route, here's a blog post that might help you drafting it:
Converting xls files to xlsx file using #powerautomate and avoid the pitfalls in #powerquery using xls – Erik Svensen – Blog about Power BI, Power Apps, Power Query (wordpress.com)

    Regards,

Microsoft needs to address this. Having us send files to a 3rd party is not an acceptable solution for business sensitive data. Why is this continually ignored by Microsoft???
