Hi everyone,

In an email, which parameter is unique so that when moving to a folder the email doesn’t change? I’m using a SharePoint list to store the mail ID to check if it exists or not. which parameter is unique. I am using sending HTTP requests with the Office 365 connector, and using Prefer: IdType="ImmutableId" to get a unique ID. After processing, the emails are moved to another folder, but why are there still emails with duplicate IDs? So a few emails are not being processed. Thank you everyone.

Hi,

Use InternetMessageId from email headers - it's the true unique identifier that survives folder moves.

Prefer: IdType="ImmutableId" changes but isn't reliable.

In Power Automate: Get email == Parse JSON ==Extract internetMessageId from headers Store or check in SharePoint list.

Id changes when moved; InternetMessageId never changes across folders.

Add duplicate check: "If InternetMessageId exists in list == skip processing
