Microsoft Forms data

I'm using Microsoft Forms to collect survey responses, which are automatically stored in an Excel Online spreadsheet (the default integration that creates a workbook on OneDrive or SharePoint). However, new responses do not appear in the spreadsheet until someone manually opens the file.

I’d like to automate this refresh/update process. Is there a way using Power Automate (or Zapier) to force the spreadsheet to update or simulate “opening” the file, so responses appear without human intervention?

Alternatively, should I bypass the default Forms-Excel connection and use Power Automate to manually log responses into a custom Excel file? I want the spreadsheet to always reflect the latest data in real time for reporting and analysis.

@JS-31032052-0 Another option is to save your responses in a SP list. Take a look at the tutorial linked below.

If you are set on having the response in a custom Excel file, you can still follow the tutorial (concepts covered can be applied to your scenario) except instead of using the Create an Item action, you can use the Add a Row into a Table action.

In this Microsoft Power Automate tutorial, I’ll show you how to get your Microsoft Form responses into SharePoint. I’ll cover how to build a Microsoft form with conditional fields by using branching. You’ll learn how to format your multiple choice responses for a SharePoint multi-choice column as well as converting it to text. I’ll also show you how to take a text response and convert it to a number with a switch action and with an expression.
After adding the response to SharePoint, we’ll send the user an email confirmation with all the details of their form submission.

At the end of the video I’ll show you a few tips and tricks on working with a SharePoint list.

The only other option I can give you, is to create a Power Automate Desktop flow that you trigger after a response is received.

Its silly to do this though. The fact is its always been and will always be this way due to cacheing. :-(

There is no way to guarantee it other than what I said above unless, I should say you are going to have a person manually open it all day long.
