Power Automate New Editor Does Not Retain Child Flow Parameter Values

In the new Power Automate editor, I’m seeing an issue with Run a child flow where parameter values are not retained when switching the selected child flow. I have a flow step that triggers DM_DMF_ETL_Flow_V3, and I had all required parameters populated with values. I then created an identical copy of the child flow named “Copy of - DM_DMF_ETL_Flow_V3” (same inputs/parameters), but as soon as I switched the Child Flow dropdown to the copied version, all parameter fields in the parent action became blank. The bigger problem is that even when I switch back to DM_DMF_ETL_Flow_V3, the previously entered parameter values remain blank instead of being restored. Historically (and still in the old editor), switching between child flows with the same parameter schema would preserve or repopulate the values, so this appears to be a regression specific to the new editor UI.

Is anyone else seeing a regression in the new Power Automate editor where “Run a child flow” parameters reset to blank when switching the child flow, even if the parameters are identical?

    Hi,

I'm not creating flows using child flows regularly. Recently I did and indeed noticed that the parameter values were deleted when switching the child flow to an improved version. I was't too concerned with only 2 simple parameters myself. I don't know anymore how this was with the old editor.

You can try to create a ticket for Microsoft Support and check if this can be considered as a bug as you mentioned that the old editor retained the values. It can be also a new design choice.
The parameters and their values are stored with a text description, so there is an indication which parameters will have the same name when changing the child flow.
