If you're using the Flow bot, it cannot post to private or shared channels unless explicitly added.

    Hi,

Option 1: Check Flow Owner Permissions

    • Ensure the flow owner is a member of the Teams chat/channel

    • The person who created the flow must be added to the Teams chat

    • If you're not the original creator, ask them to add you to the chat or transfer flow ownership

    Option 2: Use Service Account/Bot

Instead of personal account, use a service account:

    • Create a dedicated service account for automation

    • Add this service account to the Teams chat

    • Configure the flow to use this service account's credentials

    Option 3: Change Connection Authorization

    • Go to your Power Automate flow

    • Click on the Teams connector action (Post message, etc.)

    • Click "Change connection"

    • Select "Add new connection"

    • Sign in with an account that IS a member of the Teams chat

    • Save and test the flow

Option 4: Use Different Teams Action

Switch to a different Teams action that has broader permissions:

Instead of: "Post message in a chat or channel"
Use: "Post message as the Flow bot to a channel"

This method posts as the Flow bot and typically has fewer permission restrictions.

Option 5: Configure Flow Bot Permissions

    • Go to Microsoft Teams admin center

    • Navigate to Teams apps → App permissions

    • Ensure Power Automate app has necessary permissions

    • Add the Flow bot to your Teams chat manually

    •

Option 6: Use Graph API Connection

For more control, use Microsoft Graph API:

    • Use "HTTP with Azure AD" connector

    • Configure Graph API permissions for Teams

    • Use appropriate API endpoints for posting messages
