Saving PDFs produced by web page

ReportReport

I'm using a third party piece of software that uses a web based front end. I'm able to navigate, enter data, click buttons, etc. just fine, but when I produce a report I can't seem to save it. If I manually press CTRL+S on the webpage, it brings up a window to save the PDF where I can choose a location to save. If I use Send Keys to send CTRL+S to the browser instance, it tries to save the html of the entire page. If I inspect the PDF document on the page, it brings it up in an edge_pdf/index.html document, which appears to be different from the other content on the page. It doesn't produce a new page nor a new tab, it just seems to embed the document in an iframe. If I try to click on the iframe or embed elements, or send the CTRL+S to those elements, they are not found. Has anyone had any experience accessing documents that have been opened inside extensions?

Have you tried the "Download from web" action, only putting in the .pdf url?

Hard to troubleshoot without looking at the html code

    Hi Thomas,

Yeah, sorry. I know it's hard to troubleshoot without the html code, but I can't really post html that isn't free to a public site. The problem I have with your above solution is that the PDF url is hidden inside the embed element of the new page that is created. I guess my best bet is to go back to the vendor and see if they can explain how they've set it up. I just thought that there may be a generic way to access a page that gets embedded inside the page used to call the report. Thanks for your response!

I see. The url is probably hidden in the javascript. An easy solution would be to

    1) open the dev tool (F12 on chrome)

    2) click the network tab

    3) open the pdf manually.

    4) so what traffic comes up. The url should be in the header tab of one of the http requests.

Yes, the file name is in there. It's also in the iframe element of the webpage I'm on and the full link is in the embed element of the extension://mhijfbmdgcfjbbpaeojofohoefgeihjai/edge_pdf/index.html that the report produces, but I get a 'Webpage not found' error when I try to access them. The iframe element I can actually click on using the Power Automate Add UI function, but the embed element does not even highlight with the red box when I use the Power Automate built in function.

Apologies Thomas. I appears that the 'Webpage Not Found' error I was getting was only when I was using the Send Keys activity to send CTRL+S to the iframe. When I used the Get details of web element I was able to access the scr element of the iframe and was able to use that in the Download from web activity. Sorry to have wasted your time. I've marked your original response as the solution. Thanks again!
