Hi @Sam70, hope you're doing well.

You can do this with a simple scheduled flow.

    Basic approach:
    1. Create a Scheduled cloud flow (run daily)
    2. Add action -> List rows present in a table (Excel Online)
      • Make sure your data is in a proper Excel table (it is crucial to format the data in excel in a table for Power Automate to detect it)
    3. Filter for backlog items
      • Either use Filter Query (if your Excel supports it), e.g. "Status ne 'Closed'"
      • Or add a Filter array action after
    4. Create your backlog output:
      • Option A: Create a new Excel file daily and write filtered rows
      • Option B: Append to a “Backlog History” table
      • Option C: Send a summary (count + details) via email/Teams

    A couple of practical tips:
    • Excel connector struggles with large files so try to keep the table clean
    • Make sure column names match exactly (case matters sometimes)
    • If you need “backlog as of each day”, store the output daily instead of overwriting
If you provide more details as to what exactly do you mean by "backlog" or what filters you want to apply at a high level, I can help design the exact OData filter query that you can use in the Excel Online connector.

You can create a daily backlog report from Excel using Microsoft Power Automate with a scheduled flow:

    Steps:
    • Store your Excel file in OneDrive/SharePoint (with data in table format)
    • Create a scheduled flow (runs daily)
    • Use “List rows present in a table” to read data
    • Filter records where status is Open/Pending (backlog)
    • Generate output (HTML table or Excel file)
    • Send the report via email or Teams
