New horrible designer today!

Hello.

I discover a new designer today (I guess all users don't see it yet), and I am upset by what I see!

Larger actions take a big part of the screen (like back to the old designer). When working on big flows, in order to have a good vision of conditions and branching, you need to unzoom. But all becomes very small and it's very difficult to work like that.

But even worst, when you open a condition to see the branching inside, it opens also the condition panel itself. It's impossible to open the condition or the branching, it's always both. When you close (click on the title or the chevron icon), you close both! So when all is open at the same time, you have unnecessary space taken on the screen, you lose vision or your branching.

Perhaps there are new hidden features, but changing so important things when you work on a flow is a catastroph!

As often, we have the feeling that designers and developers are not real users of their tools!

Below just two examples of what it gives for a basic two levels condition portion of flow. As I said, while you open a condition, the panel remains open and closing it does close what is inside the condition. Imagine when you have 4 or 5 levels of conditions and a lot of instructions. All becomes very smalland Impossible to have a broad view.

In the top right corner, are you able to switch back to the old Designer and turn off the new one?

The New Designer does have Zoom In and Zoom Out of the left side. The + and - signs.
I try to use the new designer when I can as I fear the old designer will disappear one day. But I like the comfort of the old designer at time as I know where things are and its quirks.

Horrible, horrible UX and the toggle only half works. Much of the functionality is the same if you deselect New but I'm getting tons of errors like not being able to load the manifest of Actions.

This is a nightmare. They took a horrible tool and managed to somehow make it worse.

When I was looking at this and switching back to the old Designer, I did see issues where I had to reload the page several times before the old designer came up properly. This was from my DEV tenant.

Hopefully Microsoft is seeing this feedback and making appropriate adjustments. If when you switch to the old designer and it prompts you for feedback, make sure you provide it. You can also use the Feedback button at the top right to provide feedback. It's the smiley face.
Here is what that form looks like:
I have no idea who gets that form when you fill it out, but I suspect that any feedback is going to have a better chance of appearing in front of someone responsible for the product than Community forum posts. Anything you post here is going to get sympathy because we are using the same tool(s). ❤

100% agree this change makes editing flows a lot messier.

    The New Designer before today:

    New designer Feb 9th:

I don't understand the need to take up so much real estate on the screen. This is terrible.

The new UI of the new designer is terrible now. It's like they merged the old with the new now. Who asked for this???? It takes up soo much of the screen now and looks horrendous. I really hope they change it back.

God this new update of the view awful. It's added more clicks to navigate, made it even harder to deal with large flows, and there's even more latency when navigating on top of it all. Really hoping Microsoft gives us the option to disable this mess.

I am genuinely concerned that the editor will evolve into a state that it is practically unusable. When I turn New designer on, I get a mixed experience. It's the old UI, with new action shapes. In what seems to be the really new editor, the expression editor is a single line and Copilot is not available.

Am I nuts? Am I missing something? Does the Power Automate team have any idea what they're doing?

Glad I'm not the only one bothered by this, I can hardly debug and make the necessary changes since the actions are overlapping

Thanks all for the replies and share the pain!

@JeffP_PIT Your example is better than mine.

@MarkRahn not sure you have understood the issue. I am taking about a new designer since yesterday (but unfortunately the switch does not allow to come back to the real previous new designer). I don't want to come back to the old designer, which has the same "size issue" and has missing features (for example you can't search for dynamics content when writing expressions, this is a showstoppe for me).
