How do I enable 28-day run history for a flow?

I have a mail flow rule that only forwards emails with PDF attachments.

Customer reported it is failing to forward some emails with PDF attachments.

There is no history shown in "28-day" or "All runs" views even though I have proof it forwarded multiple messages with PDF attachments in the last 28-days.

How do I enable run history so I can troubleshoot?

Thank you in advance!

    Hi there!

The most likely root cause is there is one or more flows and/or email RULES running that are in fact forwarding some emails as you mentioned.  But the flow you are looking at has not fired in 28+ days.

Here's the first 2 places I would check:

    1)  Is there another test flow in a different environment running?

    2)  Does this inbox have EMAIL RULES forwarding?

From my past experience, it always comes down to one of those 2 because as you said, you have proof of emails sent, but they are just not from the flow you are looking at currently.  That said, you don't "turn-on" 28 days run history, it is always on.

Thank you for your quick reply Tom!  I think that may have been part of the problem.

I posted this problem in a few places and I'm circling back to share how I got it working:

I created the flow using the account that was receiving the email to be forwarded. I was using a different account but it had a Office Outlook 365 connection to the account receiving the email and full access to its mailbox.  If this fixed it, it was a permissions issue.

I also found someone created a similar forwarding rule in Outlook since I created the flow so I deleted it, as you suggested.

I didn't test between these changes so I'm not sure whether one or both did the trick.

Either way, they're still good things to check, if someone has this problem.

    Thanks again Tom!
