Power Automate – “Post adaptive card and wait for a response” schema error appears intermittently

I’m facing an intermittent issue in Power Automate where a flow that previously worked correctly suddenly shows designer validation errors.

Error message:

Invalid parameter for 'Post adaptive card and wait for a response'.
Body/body/recipient/to is no longer present in the operation schema.

Similar errors also appear for:

  • recipient/alert

  • messageBody

  • Post message in a chat or channel

  •

No changes were made to the flow logic. The issue appears when opening the flow in the designer and prevents saving or running it. Closing the browser, reopening the flow, or deleting and re‑adding the affected action temporarily resolves it.

Has anyone encountered this issue? Is this related to connector schema updates or designer cache problems? Are there any recommended long‑term solutions to avoid this behavior?

The issue is caused by a mismatch between the flow definition and the current version of the Microsoft Power Automate Microsoft Teams connector schema. The parameters used in actions such as “Post adaptive card and wait for a response” and “Post message in a chat or channel” are no longer supported in their previous form, which leads to validation errors when the flow is opened in the designer.

To resolve this, you should remove both actions from the flow and then add them again. After re-adding them, reconfigure the steps and re-map all required dynamic content.
