Running simultaneous PAD flows from Cloud Flow with same user

Hi folks!

I'm starting a solution design but a little unsure if it's possible/viable to do what I'm thinking.

My question is: is it possible to run 3 desktop flows simultaneously, in parallel branches, on 3 different VMs using the same user in all three of them? Or do I have to have a different user for each VM?

I'm thinking something like this:

3 RPA Desktop flows on 3 different VMs seems workable. Please be aware that you need 3 licenses in order to do so. This is due to running it simultaneously. If you ran them in serial, it would only require one license.

What exactly do you mean by 'the same user'? Do you mean the same Power Automate account? If yes, that should be perfectly fine. Just make sure you have enough licenses assigned to your environment (in this case 3 RPA add-on licenses).

    Thank you very much!

So, let me see if I understood correctly: in order to run the desktop flows simultaneously, I need 1 RPA unattended add-on per simultaneous run, and this add-on licenses are related to the environment, not to the user or to the specific flow, right?

So for a flow like this, with 3 simultaneous runs, 1 licence per user with RPA attended and 3 add-on RPA unattended licences would suffice?

Yes Amanda, that's correct. RPA unattended add-ons are always linked to an environment. If you have let's say 8 RPA add-on licenses available (assigned) in your environment, that would mean you are able to run 8 RPA Bots at the same time!

Situation is different when ran in serial. If you ran 8 robots after each other, 1 RPA add-on would suffice. Ofcourse it would not be the most efficient way, since the processing time would be waaaaay longer than when ran simultaneously.

What if we use Machine Group and assign these VDIs to the machine group and call that PAD using machine group from cloud. In this case either you need to create separate cloud flows or parallel branches in cloud. we should be able to accumulate. only one license in this case even if we are executing in parallel.
