Many users prefer the ease of access and user friendly interface of the Classic Designer. Most users typically switch to the Classic Designer for every flow. However, the New Designer is switched on by default and cannot be changed in the settings and the setting is not retained for neither new nor existing flows.

The legacy designer is deprecated and will eventually go away. I understand that many would prefer to use the legacy designer, but I am not aware of any way to default the designer to using the legacy version. And since its deprecated I doubt MS will provide such a setting.

Classic Designer is being gradually deprecated

New Designer supports:

Copilot features

Better performance (in theory)

Future extensibility

Which means:

This behavior is intentional, not a bug

You cannot make Classic Designer the default today

Best workaround:

Use &v3=false in URL

Bookmark Classic links

Define team usage guidelines

Is information available for the deprecation timeline?

For most users, the main justification for continued support of the Classic Designer is the User-friendly UI. The Classic designer provides efficiency and effectiveness in navigating the Flow Process and Creating Flows even for the most basic user.

Some users have reported instability with the New Designer and users will need to make modifications to existing Flows that contain actions and objects (such as comments) that are not supported in the Modern Designer.
