Flow failed to populate the TaskID in excel

Hi All
Looking for some assistance with Power Automate - my flow is set up to create tasks in Planner from an excel spreadsheet and then update those tasks with further info.  The flow is supposed to:
1. Create Planner tasks from an excel spreadsheet
2. Record the task IDs from the newly created tasks back in the excel spreadsheet
3. Update the newly created tasks in Planner with the data in the Notes column and the ChecklistItems column in the excel spreadsheet
The flow continues to fail and it seems to be due to 1 or 2 TaskIDs not populating back in the excel spreadsheet.  The TaskIDs that are failing are different each time.  Copilot advised that it could be due to Planner taking too long to perform the actions in the flow, so I built in a delay between creating the tasks and updating the rows in excel and I also adjusted the settings of one of the actions to force Retry's instead of using the default setting.  It still fails to produce all TaskIDs back in the excel spreadsheet and therefore all subsequent actions are not performed.
Here is an example of the excel spreadsheet showing all TaskIDs populated by the flow except one:

Please help me!
Thanks
Nicole

My first troubleshooting step would be:
    • Disable concurrency (or set Degree of Parallelism = 1) on the Apply to Each loop.
    • Review the run history for the failed rows and inspect the Update Row action.
    • Use the Task ID returned directly from the Planner Create Task action for subsequent Planner updates instead of relying on Excel.
In my experience, when "different rows fail each run" and the failures occur while writing back to Excel, the issue is usually Excel locking/concurrency behavior, not Planner latency.

    Hi @
I think I have fixed the problem.  It seems that the TaskID column in my excel spreadsheet was not set to 'Text' and this meant that any TaskIDs that started with a symbol were treated like the start of a formula by the excel spreadsheet.  Coverting the column to 'Text' instead of 'General' has fixed this (I think).
    Thanks
    Nicole

    Hi @NicoleSue,

If you are creating many tasks in parallel, Planner or Excel might throttle or delay responses. Try limiting concurrency in the "Apply to each" action (set concurrency to 1) to process tasks sequentially.
