How to make a connection between Dynamics MS flow and External Application through API

Hello,

I have a dynamics instance and I am using flow to connect dynamics with external application.

Requirements:

Using External Application's API, I need to create Opportunity, Account/Contact records in dynamics when record status = won in external application. I have API URL and API key.

How to trigger a flow when record status = won in external application. How to design a flow for this trigger.

Currently I am triggering a flow manually. See below screenshot:

Could you please help me on this?

Hi @rajpradip

Do you have a direct access to the external database connector? If its SQL, Dataverse or SharePoint then you could use the Power Automate default triggers when a record is created? If you access via API then you need to access the data filter by status is won. That means the API need to support this as a filter. If not you need to retrieve all the data and check the status if its won or not.

Hi abm,

Thank you for sharing your ideas.

We have API and key so able to filter data in HTTP. But how to setup the trigger in flow so flow automatically triggered when record status updated in external app.?

If not you need to schedule a trigger to run daily filter by date or something.

Hi @abm,

Thank you for your response. Webhook option is good but I don't think this option available on their end.

Now I think we have only one option is o schedule a trigger to run daily filter by conditions.
