Auto Referral # Generation

We have an event coming up and we need to track the number of referrals/persons for gifts/awards. I have a MS Form where RSVPs can be submitted for the event. The form asks for a referral number (if someone referred them). Then I have PA to get the responses and add them to a SPO list and auto generate a personalized referral #, which they will receive in an email with instructions how to use their code for referrals. I have additional columns for "Referred By", and a number column which I need to update for each individual for each referral # from the "Referred By" column to track the winners for the awards.

Can someone help me with the auto update of the # of referrals/individual column? I'm stuck in my flow and afraid I'm not setting my conditions correctly. If you can help, I will redact information from any steps needed and send back for any assistance you're willing to give. We have an important event coming and I need to be prepared for compliance and governance of collecting accurate information for awards.

Thanks in advance

If I understand you correctly, you just want to get the current number (max) of referrals of that Referred By person and than increment it with 1 if the newest RSVP is a referral for that same person?

Would you be able to share your current flow setup, this way I can adapt my example to your setup.

Btw, SharePoint Online lists also supports totals metrics in group by. So, you might not need a Power Automate flow for the number count at all.

Oh my gosh! I feel like such an idiot right now. I'm a SPO SME and I guess I was so focused on doing everything within my flow, it never crossed my mind that I could do it in the SPO list. I am pretty upset with myself right now, but I have to thank you so much for pointing that out. Now I'll have to reconstruct my flow and try this. You my friend, no, no words to describe how I feel for the quick response and my overlooking something that should have been so obvious.
