how to avoid triggering notifications to send more than once

For our automated notification, I sent two rules to trigger the email being sent out to providers. I found that in some cases where the rep saves the item more than once with the same two rules present, it will trigger additional duplicate notifications to the provider. How can I setup a rule to not send out if already sent?

    Could you please provide more context? What is the flow trigger? 
     
    Depending on the case, you're facing an infinite loop: the automation is initialized when a data source is modified (e.g., a SharePoint List) and at some point of the flow you are updating that same record - triggering the automation one more time, since Power Automate tracked a modification.
     
    If this is the case, there are some different strategies to avoid it, such as updating the record with a Service Account and including a trigger condition to not start the flow if this particular account modifies the record (assuming the data source stores this information).     Hi there!
     
    What I typically do is add a "helper column" to the far right; it can even be a column on in the default view so people don't actually see it persue.
     
    THEN when I send a notification or email, I update this column to "sent" or "processed".  This will prevent a 2nd notification or email going out because of the status of the helper column.  Goes without saying, in your sent notification action, you need to put it inside a condition and if the helper column does not equal "sent" or "processed", send notifications.  If true, don't send [the duplicate].
     
    As the old saying goes.... works in testing.

    When you refer to rules, what exactly are you referring to and what are the rules you set up? Is this what you mean by a rule:
    Or when say rule you mean a condition or trigger condition in your flow? Or do you mean a rule in Outlook? As was mentioned in another post, more context is needed.
