Hi,
With the push to move from SharePoint Workflows to Microsoft Flow there is one road block I keep stumbling into. I often create a site template (i.e. a project site) which has a bunch of lists/dashboards etc on it which are all strung together using SharePoint Workflows. In the "old days" once you had a site built and the workflows running I'd then template the site with it's contents and of course the workflows. When the site is deployed by a user there would be very little for them to do other than populate the site with data.
With Flow because they are outside of the site structure this means when a template is deployed the user (or me) has to copy a predefined "templated" Flow, then reconfigure all the connectors so they point to the new site/lists. In some cases the Flows could contain 20+ controls all requiring the connections to be reset. Not only does this take ages to do but it introduces "human error" which is never a good thing 🙂
The reason for this thread is just to see what other people are doing in these kind of situations, are there any tricks that can be used to reduce the labour of having to copy/edit Flows. If there was a automated way to deploy Flow with out user interaction that would be the goal, but I can dream.
Any thoughts gratefully received.
