Allow external SharePoint users to get email alert when a file is uploaded

I have a SharePoint configured for external file sharing. Users are able to access the files but would like to be notified when a file is uploaded to a folder. The users aren't members of our tenant and it appears that is necessary to allow alerts. I did find an article that suggested posting this to the Power Automate platform as there may have a way to configure alerts that can be sent to external users who don't have accounts in our Active Directory nor our Azure Active Directory.

Hi,

Yes, a quick flow can do this for you. Here in this example, you can point to a specific folder (probably the one that is shared with external users). Then when a new file is created, send an email.

You can bake in more details and options but this is enough to just get a basic email out.

In the email body, here's an example where I just put the file name with extension but you could also make the link (aka Full Path) a dynamic link that is clickable with light html.
