Microsoft 365 group calendar

Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to create an appointment directly in a Microsoft 365 group calendar using Power Automate, but I couldn’t figure it out—even with Copilot’s help.

Is there a straightforward way or best practice to do this?

Thanks in advance for your guidance!

you need to have access to the group with the account you're building the flow with and then use the action "create a group event". Inside this action the groups that you have access to are listed automatically.
For dynamic start and end times of the events you could work with addDays() or addHours().

I'm really a beginner, but I can't find the action 'Create a group event (V2)' among the available actions.
I managed to create the flow on my personal calendar using 'Create event (V4)', but I can't do it for the group calendar.

    FOUND !

I couldn't find the action "Create group event (V2)" in Power Automate at first, even though I was typing its name in the search bar. The problem was that I was searching for it in the general list of actions without selecting the correct connector.

Only after selecting the Office 365 Groups connector manually did the "Create group event (V2)" action appear. That’s why it didn’t show up earlier — I was looking in the wrong context. Once I accessed the right connector, everything worked as expected.

The api for user management and group management go two different ways in the background:
one goes /users/... (this is all the data of your own user)
the other goes /groups/... (either admins with for example Group.ReadWrite.All permissions or owners / members of groups have certain permission scopes)

Some actions like the Office 365 users and Office 365 Outlook actions allow access to your own currently signed in user's data and access and theres a separate Office 365 Groups action category for the access to group specific data.

Since you might have your own calendars of your own user's mailbox you need to differentiate and use http request actions with the correct groups identifier /groups/{id}/calendar/events or use the pre-made group based actions in this category:
