Launch New Chrome fails "Failed to assume control of Chrome" after opening browser

I have a Power Automate Desktop flow that had been running unattended on an Azure VM successfully for weeks.  Now when I try to run the flow in Power Automate Desktop this is what happens:

1) The first command is 'Launch new Chrome'

2) Chrome actually opens and the URL indicated in the command opens

3) After about 12-15 seconds I get this:

On another machine (a locally hosted VM) I can open the Ui Flow in PAD and it runs fine.

I have reinstalled the Chrome extension, and it is working and actually opening the browser and URL but then fails.   This is something specific to that VM.

Any suggestions?

    Hi @JP_Bot ,

    I believe It's a bug in PAD.

As a workaround follow the below steps:

    1. Launch browser action with url that loads faster (Eg:  https://www.microsoft.com/ or https://google.com )

    2. Then use Go to web page action with your URL

Hope this fixes your issue 🙂

    Hi @Anonymous

Please check if you have installed and enabled PAD Browser Extension:

If everything is ok here, then you need to check if you have your services up and running:

It's also worthy checking if you have any issue related to the environment itself (I had an environment which blocked the extensions through group policy). If you can't reach this page, this might be your case:
