Unable to call a "Shared with me" desktop flow containing connection references from a cloud flow

Hello Power Automate Masters,

My colleague made a desktop flow and shared with me. There is a connection reference in the flow, so every time when I run the flow in PAD console it asks me to choose my connection then it will run normally.

However when I want to call the desktop flow from cloud flow, the cloud flow failed to start the desktop flow: "Access to some desktop flow connectors wasn't validated. Verify the following connections: <Masked>_shared_office365_<Masked> and try again."

Any ideas how to let it pick the correct connection and get around this? My role in the environment is Environment Maker.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @CA_RSP ,

If possible, recreate the connections used in the desktop flow within the cloud flow itself. This eliminates the dependency on the desktop flow's connection references.
Cloud flows allow you to establish connections to various services like Office 365, SharePoint, etc. You can use the appropriate connector actions in your cloud flow to interact with these services.

    Hi @VishnuReddy1997 ,

Thanks for the inspiring idea; however if i connect to Office 365 in the cloud flow then I also need to make changes to the desktop flow...while i'm just a user of that desktop flow and i'm trying to have a trigger to run the flow unattended.

    Hi @CA_RSP ,

You're right, recreating connections in the cloud flow can be inconvenient if you're just a user of the desktop flow and want to run it unattended in Power Automate.
The most secure and maintainable solution is to discuss with the colleague who created the desktop flow. Explain your requirement to run it unattended in Power Automate and the connection reference issue.
They can modify the desktop flow to avoid relying on connection references
