Hello,
I have a document library named "Support Plan Review" where I have a docx template file from the New menu.
When a new document is created, it is prefixed with the default title of "Document#.docx" where # is the number.
I have inserted quick parts into the document to all the properties of the document to be updated and to also fill the Resident Name and Support Case Ref columns in the document library view.
What Id ideally like to happen is that when a new item is created, is that once saved that the document name update to "Support Plan Review_SupportCaseRef.docx"
The trouble is that when you click on the New button, the document is firstly (1) opened in Word Online and (2) immediately creates a file in the document library. What I have to do in order to use the quick parts is to open the file in Word desktop to then update the properties of the file and fill out any static text within the document.
Am I over-complicating things and is there an easier way of doing this? without duplicating files etc.
Thanks
Hi @sudosaurus ,
Any time you would like to rename a file in SharePoint with the help of Flow, you will need to create a copy of the file then delete the previous one.
Hope this helps.
