Automate creating tasks from flagged outlook emails in Project for the Web

Hi there! I hope you are doing well!

I am looking for a way to create a power Automate Flow that creates a task in Project for the Web when an email is flagged. There is an existing flow that does this but only in Planner. Power Automate won't allow me to create a task in Project with flagged emails but it will for Planner. They are very similar applications, so I do not quite understand why it won't let me make a flow like this for Project. Would someone please be able to help me?

    Hi,

You can do this no problem. But I would try to think.... differently

    1. How do you create a Task in Project (at all)
    2. Now how do I do it via a Triggered Flow from a Flagged email

That way you can break down what you need to do and learn it in parts, versus looking for a copy paste solution.

You truly just need Dataverse, and you need to use the Create Rows in the msdyn_projecttask using Add a new now

Now you just need the proper trigger, which you said you can already do to create things in Planner. Just change the inner code to write it to the msdyn_projecttask table and you are done.

But here is an Article which will give you specific :-) details.
