Are there any methods to change the default layout?

I am a free user who develops and practices with Power Automate on my own.

When I click View > Default Layout, or after I run a flow, the interface automatically switches back to the default layout.

However, I do not need to monitor the Variables pane all the time. Since I work with a small window, I prefer to open the Variables pane only when necessary.

Is there any way to customize the layout or change the default layout in the free desktop version of Power Automate?

    Hi

No. Power Automate Desktop does not provide an officially supported way to customize or persist the default layout. The Variables pane is designed to be visible for debugging and shows current values during runs.

No difference in UI customization between free versus paid versions. Licensing affects features like cloud connectivity, Dataverse storage, unattended runs, and sharing. Not the desktop designer layout.

You have to manually close or resize the Variables pane. This is supported but not saved. Must be repeated.

At the moment, Power Automate Desktop does not support saving a custom default layout or permanently hiding the Variables pane.

The application restores its predefined layout after certain actions such as opening a flow, debugging, or selecting View → Default Layout. The best available

workaround is to collapse or minimize the Variables pane when not needed, but there is currently no supported setting to make a custom layout persist across

    sessions.
