Word Template in Power Automate flow - license requirements

Good morning. I have a licensing question.
If I create a flow that will utilize a word template, and I place a button to call that flow in a model driven app - will the unlicensed users of the app be able to use it, or will they require Power Automate premium licenses?

No, they can't use that button without proper licensing.

The Word Online (Business) connector is premium, which makes your flow a premium instant flow. Microsoft's licensing rules say every user who runs an instant flow with premium connectors needs a Power Automate Premium license.

    What licenses work:

Each user pressing that button needs one of these:

    1. Power Apps Premium license (per app or per user)

    2. Dynamics 365 license that includes the app

    3. Power Automate Premium per-user license

    4. Power Automate Process (per-flow) license assigned to the flow (this way individual users don't need Premium)

    note:

To use a model-driven app with Dataverse at all, users already need a Power Apps or Dynamics 365 license. Running it completely unlicensed isn't compliant.

Bottom line: Option 4 (per-flow license) is usually the most cost-effective if you have many users who only occasionally use this feature.

@Valantis my users all have Microsoft 365 Business Premium licenses, as well as Power Apps Premium licenses. If I understand correctly, they will then be able to run the flow.

Because your users have Power Apps Premium (on top of Microsoft 365 Business Premium), they can run that flow, even though it uses the Word Online (Business) premium connector.

The only things to make sure of are:
    - The flow is triggered from the model‑driven app (e.g., via a command button/Power Apps or Dataverse trigger), and
    - Everyone who will use that button has a Power Apps Premium license assigned.
If those two are true, you don’t need any additional Power Automate Premium or per‑flow licenses for this scenario.
