Disable UI element image, delete all UI images

Hi,

PAD takes a screenshot of each UI element we capture - is there a way to disable it entirely or at least to delete the existing ones?

Googling gives me this link but it does not work/gives me access denied

I have the same question (0)

.Hm... I find that when you in the UI elements screen click om "..." and select "remove all unused UI elements" it removes them and their screenshots/thumbnaiils.

Maybe that wasn't what you asked?

    Regards

    /Klaus

Cant sadly, use image activities instead of UI Elements to avoid any unnecessary security information around a field you're trying to access is about the only thing I cant think of to help you with this.

Not good, those images are pretty useless if I name the UI elements in a clear and understandable fasion.

Images of buttons etc are generally fine, but at the same time it takes a screen of parent window and that's were some information might be included 😕

Take a look at Henrik's comment on this thread, I think thats what you're looking for.

yeah, I thought about doing so but it does not do the trick - does not accept empty value

    but!

Let me finish some stuff and i try to replace with generic image to see if this fools th PAD 🙂

I got this working.. I think..

When trying previously, I was clearing the value within the "screenshot" tag, however PAD was not accepting the code when trying to put it back into PAD - it was expecting the value since we kept the screenshot tag.

So, deleting the "screenshot" tag entirely (see below) got rid of the image in the UI Elements pane (remember there are 2 - one for parent widow and second for the actual ui element).

Actions works just fine so definitively it is possible for Microsoft to allow us to have UI elements without the image.

Although the pane shows no image, i see in the code some references to the png files, but it is hard to understand whether these do exist on the local machine (i was unable to locate them) and in th cloud service.

Regular expression for Notepad++ to replace the ScreenShot tags from Power Automate Desktop copy paste clipboard text content:

    \\"ScreenShot\\":\s\\"(.*?)\\",\\r\\n
